BIOPARC Valencia Holiday School
When the holidays arrive at BIOPARC Valencia… the adventure begins! Expedition Africa is a holiday school for girls and boys where we will explore, play and learn about African animals in a unique environment.

And we will do it by experiencing BIOPARC from the inside: we will get to know the biology of the animals, we will observe their behavior, get to know the work of the animal care team, and participate in the Program of Animal welfare.

With all this, we will understand the challenges of campaigns in nature and we will take away simple actions that we can apply in our daily lives to protect the natural environment.

Africa Expedition It has three editions: Christmas, Easter and SummerThe experience adapts to each season with two formats:

  • Christmas and Easter: Specialist Animal Courses

In these editions, each day we become specialists in an animal: we will delve into its biology and get closer to the work of the animal care team.

We will participate in preparing the facilities, preparing their diets and observing their behavior, in addition to games, workshops and group dynamics, with a common goal: to know in order to respect and conserve.

  • Summer: Themed Weeks (Monday to Friday)

A week of adventures with an incredible setting that will immerse us in the animal world through play, magic, and science.  

We will conduct themed games, treasure hunts and workshops, as well as special experiences such as visits to the technical area, talks with the animal care team, preparation of diets and participation in animal welfare proposals.

And to end the week, on Fridays we will hold a special day full of exciting activities.

When it's made?

  • Christmas and Easter (Animal Specialist): during school holidays, on days that do not coincide with weekends or public holidays (according to the calendar).
  • Summer (Themed Weeks): by weeks, from the end of the school year.

What are the usual opening hours?

  • from 09 p.m to 00 p.m. (includes lunch, dinner and snack).

In Summer there will be a special schedule on Fridays which will be detailed on the specific page of the edition.

Ages.

Expedition Africa is aimed at girls and boys who are in the last year of preschool and the entire primary school stage at the time of each edition (approx. 4 to 12 years old).

By 2026, the participation ages are:

  • Easter Africa Expedition: girls and boys who were born from 2014 to 2020.
  • Africa Summer ExpeditionThe school is divided into two different activities according to age:
    • Little ADVENTURE: Born in 2020 and 2021 (CHILDREN).
    • Great ADVENTURE: Born from 2014 to 2019 (PRIMARY).
  • Christmas Africa Expedition: girls and boys who were born from 2015 to 2021.

Groups are formed by age, with adapted activities, content, and pace. Each group will always be accompanied by BIOPARC Valencia's educational staff.

Rates

Expedition Africa holiday school fees will be published on the dedicated Christmas, Easter or Summer page when registration opens, usually 1 or 2 months before each edition.

What's included?

Includes all meals within the activity schedule (lunch, dinner and snack), materials, official identification item (cap, neck warmer or t-shirt), park access and access to the animal technical area.

How to register?

  1. Once the application period has opened, the first step is purchase the activity at the online box office.
  2. After that, you have 48 hours to fill out the registration form.

  • Learn through play and cultivate the curiosity.

  • Discover and participate in the Animal Welfare Program.
