Thailand's Environment Minister visits Valencia to learn about BIOPARC

Rain Forest, the Spanish company behind BIOPARC, welcomes a delegation of Thai government officials as part of the development of the Asian country's new animal park model.

The BIOPARC Foundation and the Thailand Zoological Park Organization have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to exchange knowledge and experiences on topics as relevant as the conservation of endangered wildlife.

The delegation headed by the Thai Minister of Natural Resources and Environment, Mr. Chalermchai Srion, accompanied by the ambassador to Spain, Mr. Vosita Vorasaph, and other senior officials and leaders of the Zoological Parks Organization of Thailand, was received at BIOPARC Valencia by the president of the BIOPARC Foundation, Mr. José Maldonado, and the director of the Valencian park, Mr. Miguel Casares.

At this important meeting, a document was signed Memorandum of Understanding formalizing a bilateral collaboration between the Zoological Park Organization of Thailand and the BIOPARC Foundation in areas so necessary for the preservation of biodiversity such as the exchange of knowledge and experiences in zoo management; research, conservation and environmental education programs; or veterinary medicine applied to wildlife and species ex situ, among others.
