A large crowd enjoyed the first day of the anniversary celebration of the nature conservation park, which began with “cakes” for the animals and ended this afternoon with the traditional cake tasting.

En BIOPARC Valencia Celebrations always have two protagonists, animals and people, and a “cause”, the nature conservation. And with these premises and the same enthusiasm that makes 17 years, the park's human team was preparing this morning to begin the first day of the Anniversary celebration weekend. With the pride of having managed to be a international reference And with the responsibility of sharing love and respect for animals, the goal was to offer a day with a festive atmosphere, and so it was.

During the day, the varied programme of activities has filled this day of “leisure with a cause” with joy, which will continue tomorrow, Sunday.

Shortly after the opening, at 10.15am, the roar of the Lions The males had already announced that something was happening because they were the first to discover a very appetising cake for the king of carnivores, made with bloody meat inside blocks of ice. Although the male imposed his strength and, guided by his sense of smell, he agreed to the delicacy, the females also took advantage of the feast.

Next, it has been The herd of elephants with the calves Makena and Malik, aged 2 and 1 years respectively, who have had a delicious surprise, as the animal care team has included juicy fruits such as watermelons and melons as well as various vegetables, alfalfa and other elements to form the enormous cake. The games of the babies and the skill of the impressive trunks of the adults have amazed the people who were watching it.

Many people had already positioned themselves at the different viewing points of the venue. the chimpanzee family to observe the reactions of these emblematic animals that are in critical danger of extinction. The staff that is in charge of providing them with the maximum well-being has prepared a delicious cake full of color due to the variety of vegetables (cucumber, zucchini, carrot, endive, leek, various lettuces and celery) and fruit (grapes, kiwi, orange, pineapple and strawberries).
