Conservation – Science

Preservation of a species habitat is essential to save that species

Bioparc believes that conservation measures for a species must be taken before the species population size slips below an acceptable minimum threshold, and that measures should be undertaken via inclusion in global nature conservation programs.

Thus the Bioparc Foundation has been created. Bioparc Valencia actively supports organizations dedicated to the conservation of the nature and in particular in the IUCN (International Union for Conservation of Nature), which operates with the philosophy that preservation of a species’ habitat is essential to save that species.

Education – Recreation

Bioparc Valencia: a 10 hectare classroom in the great outdoors.

Bioparc Valencia believes in education, particularly by striving to increase the awareness of children- but not by using traditional and static methods of education that is boring to its visitors. Rather, Bioparc employs interactive teaching techniques with practical applications that will engage the visitors. Bioparc Valencia serves as a 10 hectare outdoor classroom, and it is supported by three interpretative centers and two indoor classrooms.

As a responsible organization, Bioparc Valencia is committed to reaching beyond its role as a leisure facility to be a platform for education and awareness.

Sustainability

Bioparc Valencia has a clear commitment to the environment.

The sustainable design of Bioparc Valencia allows optimal management of all resources, generating a saving in energy and demonstrating its environmental commitment.

The park has state of the art facilities that enable ecologically sound resource management. It houses five purifying plants for recycling the water flowing in the many rivers, waterfalls, lakes and other wetlands enjoyed by the visitors and animals.

Water parameters such as pH and temperature are adapted to the needs of each species to guarantee that species well-being. This important tailoring of water quality needs is also carried out using ecologically sound technology. A framework of solar panels provides Bioparc facilities with sufficient energy to heat the water.
